Learning Objectives
Making contact with yourself
Involves pausing, slowing down, breathing, and paying attention to your thoughts and feelings; whereas, when mentoring others, it involves attending to them physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Validating yourself
Involves acknowledging and accepting your feelings as well as reminding yourself of your inner resources and values; whereas, validating others involves being able to reflect on their feelings as well as highlight their inner resources and values.
Becoming aware of yourself
Involves noticing your behaviors, both congruent and defensive, as well as what is driving them; whereas, when mentoring others, it involves helping them become aware of when they are being congruent versus defensive and what is driving their defensiveness.
Opening to greater understanding and acceptance
Involves gaining greater understanding and acceptance of your disliked parts as well as those that you dislike in others; whereas, when mentoring others, it involves helping them to open up for a greater understanding of their disliked parts and those of others.
Making change
Involves helping yourself to make positive choices and changes; whereas when mentoring others, it means eliciting positive choices and new possibilities of change for them.
Reinforcing change
For oneself involves being able to seek support in times of stress; whereas, when mentoring others, it means being able to encourage and guide them as they work on making changes.
The program consists of three levels, each to support the growth and knowledge acquisition as well as have time to practice and learn the necessary skills.
It is comprised of 20 individual or group lessons across the full calendar year, with a dedicated Satir Coach and Satir Trainer Supervisor. The program can be done fully online (through Zoom) or in person.
Level 1
Enriching Your Relationship with Your Self and Others:
A Personal Growth Program consisting of 12 individual lessons, or 3 days of group training.

Level 2
Satir’s Theoretical Concepts and Satir’s Process:
Consisting of 8 individual sessions, or 4 days of group training.

Satir Coaching and Mentoring Specialist Training:
Consisting of 20 individual sessions or 5 days of group training and completing a supervised practicum working with three individuals for six sessions each or one group for six sessions.
